ABC Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis conducting 1:1 support to children in Nursery. The school requires an experienced Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification who works well with children with Autism and additional needs. The school is based in the Sandwell area.

About the role

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a number of children
  • Supporting students with a diagnosis of ASD and associated communication and behavioural needs.
  • Use a child-centred approach to provide the best support for student’s learning and development.
  • This Teaching Assistant role is a full-time, long-term role.
  • Be able and comfortable with the personal care side of the role.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Qualified Teaching Assistant - Primary you will:
  • • Have previous experience working with primary-aged children and students with a range of special educational needs.
  • • Suitable qualifications to work with young people and support students with SEND, this is highly desirable.
  • • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
  • • Be able to work as part of a team and be confident dealing with occasional behavioural challenges
  • • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification
