About the role
As the Subject Lead in Music, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Music curriculum and inspiring students across all key stages. This leadership position involves not only teaching but also guiding the Music department, ensuring high-quality instruction, and fostering a love for music within the school community. You will be responsible for developing innovative lesson plans, managing resources, and supporting other teachers in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a rich and engaging Music curriculum.
- Support and mentor fellow teachers within the department.
- Organize and oversee school performances, concerts, and musical events.
- Collaborate with other subject leads to integrate music across the curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where necessary.

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Music.
- Experience teaching Music across various key stages.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities or experience in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for music education and a commitment to student success.
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
- a suitable qualification to teach Music i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
