ABC Teachers is currently seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team in Shrewsbury. This role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, making it ideal for candidates looking to work flexibly across local secondary schools.
About the role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain focused on their tasks and that behaviour standards are maintained. This role is suited for individuals with a solid understanding of secondary education and an ability to quickly build rapport with students.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across various subjects, following lesson plans provided by teachers
- Manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment
- Support students with their learning as necessary and answer general questions
- Maintain regular communication with school staff and report on student progress

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Experienced cover supervisor you will:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar role in an educational setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to adapt to different classrooms
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
- A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of students
- Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years.
