ABC Teachers are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work within SEND Schools and Alternative provisions in East Birmingham.

About the role

Provide 1:1 personalised support for a key student, tailoring your approach to their specific needs.
Support and monitor the student’s academic and personal progress, working both inside and outside the classroom.
Build positive relationships with students, offering firm but fair behaviour management to help them achieve their potential.
Act as a proactive role model, fostering engagement, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Behavior Support Assistant you will:

A minimum of 1-year experience in a care, residential, or educational setting is required.
Possess a valid DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with young people, especially those with challenging behaviour, SEND needs, or adverse childhood experiences.
A strong understanding and awareness of safeguarding practices.
Background in therapeutic care or therapeutic practices.
Strong behaviour management.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
