About the role

ABC Teachers are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal - Pastoral to join a vibrant secondary school in Yardley. This non-teaching role focuses on providing strong pastoral leadership and support, overseeing the well-being and behaviour of students within a form group. You will play a key role in fostering a positive school environment, working closely with students, staff, and parents to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed both personally and academically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage pastoral care across a designated form group.
  • Monitor student attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
  • Support staff in implementing behaviour policies and strategies.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to provide tailored student support.
  • Uphold the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Contribute to school leadership initiatives and strategies for student development.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting the school’s ethos and values.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Assistant Principal - Pastoral you will:
  • Proven experience in a pastoral leadership role, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a leadership team.
  • A commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
  • Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • a suitable qualification or experience i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS
